Almost six weeks on from the last entry and only five weeks to go before we head off. Preparations are well in hand as we now have our India Visa, our flight tickets and ship boarding pass. Hotel bookings in the UK are all confirmed as are the coach tickets from Heathrow to Southampton. Jenny has booked a number of shore excursions to fill in the most of the port days. There's nothing more to be done as far as the journey is concerned.
On the home front we managed to perform our civic duty by voting in the Federal Election. We managed to slip the Census in before the system went down and even completed our 2015/16 Income Tax return.
We continue to keep the medical fraternity occupied; Jenny is receiving treatment for some skin cancers on her face and I'm trying some physiotherapy for the sharp pains in my neck. Neither of these conditions are life threatening but need to be attended to in a timely fashion to slow down further deterioration.
While it has nothing to do with this journey; I've been distracted making arrangements for our Overseas Journey for June-July 2017. Accommodation in the UK is fast selling out, a number of properties became unavailable within the last week. I can't book accommodation until the flights are confirmed and flights can't be booked more than eleven months into the future. Today we managed to book the flights over and back and I've made the appropriate hotel bookings. This trip may well be the most complex one we've embarked on in recent times. More of that in the future.
The weather has been cold and at times quite miserable. It is the first full Winter we've experienced here in Canberra for something like fifteen years. I'm convinced that winter here is something you need to practise and grow used to. I still try to put in a reasonable walk each morning with the aim of achieving 10,000 paces each day. It doesn't always come off.
Wishing you good health and safe travel wherever you may go.
Have a great day and stay well.
Cheers .. Tony
