The Day Drags On

Saturday, 17 September 2016

What do you do on the day before you depart ?? Not a whole lot is the short answer and it really drags.

Started to pack the case on Thursday after lunch. Two hours latter had it 95% packed. Spent more time taking stuff out and repacking it to check that what I thought I'd packed had actually been placed in there. All checked.

Friday sorted out the medications. Sixty days worth of each makes for quite a parcel. Jenny, wisely, carries her pharmacy in her carry-on, I'm not that smart and risk being down to a week's worth if my check-in luggage gets lost. One hopes that Travel Insurance will help pay for replacements.

Back to the real world. Saturday leaves very little to do. All the electronic daily-use items will be packed away this evening and all the power outlets will be turned off tomorrow morning. It will take about 30 minutes and another 10 to double-check.

Natalie will be here at 07:00 to take us to the airport and that will be the start of that long series of flights to Heathrow.

I've just dashed this off in the hour before lunch and will post this as the last posting from home.

I'm ready to go NOW.

Wishing you good health and safe travel.
Have a great day and stay well.
Cheers .. Tony
