Third Sea Day

Saturday, 1 October 2016

The sky is clear but there is a low sea haze as we sail into the Mediterranean Sea reducing visibility. We were within 5 nautical miles of the North African coast but the land was not visible. For most of the day we sailed in company with merchant vessels of various configuration and size. With our ship sailing at about 20 knots they were all overtaken quickly.

Our day settled into a regular sea day routine. Jenny spent most of the day with her craft ladies and I attended my lectures. In between there was lunch and finally dinner. With sunset due at 19:45 I decided to try and capture some images rather than watch the stage show. The sunset produced some impressive images as the haze dispersed the light but made it difficult to focus.

Some more futile attempts to connect to the Internet only to find that it is unworkably slow. I can manage the simple text of this journal but attempts to upload images were unsuccessful.

The lectures today were an overview of Messina by the 'Destination Expert' Lydon Jolley. Followed by Peter Anderson on the topic of Flying Saucers and Alien Visits. After lunch Evon Anderson provided a detailed background on the famous generals of WWII. Rommel, Montgomery and Patton, they each had their flaws and character defects.

There's no specific photo to point to, if you want to see the latest, view my project by following this link to the main album.

Wishing you good health and safe travel.
Have a great day and stay well.
Cheers .. Tony
