01.07.2016 - 01.07.2016
Today I transferred the last of the cruise fare for our 48 day voyage on the Emerald Princess from Southampton to Sydney.
We are booked to fly out of Canberra on Sunday 18 September 2016. After a transfer in Sydney we fly to Singapore and overnight at Changi Airport before flying to Heathrow Airport. We're booked into a hotel for the night and travel to Southampton by coach on Tuesday 20 September.
We're booked in a hotel in Southampton for seven days and plan to explore the local area before boarding the Emerald Princess Wednesday 28 September.
We have some sea days before visiting Rome, Naples and Messina on consecutive days. Some more days at sea before transiting the Suez Canal before visiting Aqaba in Jordan on Monday 10 October. After six days at sea we will visit Dubai on Monday 17 October for an overnight stay.
Back to sea for three days and visiting Cochin on Saturday 22 October. Some more time at sea before stopping in Phuket, Singapore, Ko Samui and Bangkok in quick succession.
Unwind during three sea days before reaching Bali on Friday 4 November. Some more time at sea before reaching Fremantle on Tuesday 8 November and then Margaret River the next day. Three more sea days to visiting Melbourne and completing the voyage on Tuesday 15 November in Sydney.
All the significant bookings have been made but there are a number of activities to be taken care of. We need to apply for the India Visa, without that they won't let us board the Emerald in Southampton. There's an election here in the ACT while we're at sea and we'll have to remove ourselves from the roll to avoid a fine for not voting. Then there are last minute medical appointments and arrangements made to renew our driver's licenses as they expire while we're away.
I'll get into the swing of this as the departure date approaches.
Wishing you good health and safe travel.
Have a great day and stay well.
Cheers .. Tony
